I won't go into any detail at all regarding last night's season-ending episode of Battlestar Galactica, but WTF? Wha' happen?

For the first time in 3+ months, there's a new Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi Channel tonight! When we last left our band of refugees, the Pegasus, thought to be lost in the attack on the colonies, had stumbled upon the Galactica-led fleet. The Admiral of the Pegasus, as ranking officer, took control of the civilian fleet, much to the chagrin of the Galactica. A fight between officers from each Battlestar results in a death, and 2 of the Galactica's men are sentenced to *death* by Admiral Cain, much to the chagrin of Commander Adama. The last episode ends with Adama ordering a squadron of fighters to get his men back from the Pegasus. I completely did not the season ...

The timing is a little bit odd, but tonight marks the return of "Battlestar Galactica" on the Sci-Fi channel. I've written about it before, but I'd would have to say that it is, hands down, one of the 3 best series on television right now. And, probably the best sci-fi series *ever* done. There are so many things that make this show great: topical and thought-provoking plots, fantastic writing, great effects, and a great cast. If anybody is interested, there's a new episode of "Lost" on ABC tonight at 7:00 -- the first one since Hurley won the lottery about 4 weeks ago. Friday night is the season finale of "Battlestar Galactica" on the Sci-Fi channel. It's the second half of a 2-parter. Those 2 shows, along with "24", have been duking it out for my favourite show this year. I'd have to lean towards Lost - when it's on, I don't want to take my eyes off the screen. 24 has got the Bauer factor; it's a very enjoyable show.
