Back From Vegas

Judy and returned from a few days in Vegas on Thursday. I was my 6th trip out there, and it was just as fun as the first time. Once again, we stayed at my parent's place, Polo Towers. It's situated right off the strip, behind a little shopping mall and across the street from Planet Hollywood, which was the Alladdin the last time we were out there. The pool at the condo is a bit on the smallish side, so we splurged on a one-night stay at Mandalay Bay. They've got a couple of great pools and a lazy river - well worth it. The rooms there ...

Vegas Tips

For the first time in about 6 years, I won't be making a trip to Las Vegas. Mom & Dad have a 2-bedroom timeshare condo *on the strip*, and they're usually so generous as to share. I've stayed there once with the whole family, twice with Judy, Mom, and Dad, and once just Judy and myself. I've also spent time at the Imperial Palace, Treasure Island, and Paris. Add to that my numerous outings to Potawotami Bingo & Casino, and I'd say it was a safe bet (pun intended) to call me an aficionado of wagering. The Pimp Told Me To Do It

Last night, I made my first trip over to the casino in almost a year. Once we started hording money away for the condo, I had to put the kaibosh on my semi-regular trips to the blackjack tables. One of the members of our investment club suggested the Firepit Bar & Grill as a meeting location, so I found myself back once again. It was an odd feeling walking back in there - there's nothing like the constant chirping and ringing of the slot machines in the background. Quite a rush. Blackjack!

Mom & I had one of our casino nights last night. Typically, we'll play a little, have some dinner, and then play a little bit more, before I drive her over to meet Dad at the bowling alley. This time, we ended up playing straight through. It was a fun table. When we sat down, there was a couple at the first 2 spots, an opening at the third, an older gentleman at fourth, a weird french guy at fifth, and we took the last two (which is where I prefer to play). Vegas, Baby

Back from vacation today. 4 sunny days and 3 nights in Las Vegas, Nevada. We stayed at the lovely Paris hotel and casino. I've been out there 7 times now (I think), and this is the third hotel I've stayed at - and probably the nicest one. Photos have been posted to the gallery There was a massive Home Builder's Expo going on. Let's just say it's nice to be around normal people again. I passed on the opportunity to go see the displays on the convention floor, but I hear that Kohler had quite a setup. I did get a few goodies, courtesy of Judy.
