Once upon a time, back in the fall of 1985, I started the first semester of my freshman year of high school at Bay View. On the whole, our sports program wasn't anything to get too excited about. We had an exceptional track & field program while I was there (I used to share a seat on the bus with a future Olympian), and we had some great individual wrestlers. OK, I saw it last night. I haven't read the books in about 20 years. (There aren't many things I can say that I haven't done in 20 years, but this is one of them.) So I'm a little shaky on what exactly was and wasn't in the book/movie. It was a fantastic film, though. The battle scenes are fantastic, and the Frodo-Sam-Golum stuff is great. I've seen some reviews proclaiming it "best picture" already. I need to let it sink in a little bit...
