Whew!

I’m coming to the end of a busy streak. Tonight we’re getting together with some friends, and then I’m “off” until this coming weekend. Here’s a recap of the last few days:

  • Thursday 6/26 - Saw the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and The Gufs play together at the lakefront. Left prior to the Big Bang fireworks, though
  • Friday 6/27 - Movie night - “Wanted” at the IPIC at Bayshore (thumbs up, fun movie)
  • Saturday 6/28 - Double Booking. Golf in the AM with Chuck & Les (congratulations again, Mr. Buchs Chump), then off to Cedarburg in the afternoon to see my dad & mom at the Strawberry Festival. About 20 minutes after we arrived at my dad’s booth, it started to drizzle. Then an officer came by and let gave us 10 minutes warning that high winds and hail were expected. We spent the next hour or so packing up paintings and taking down the tent. We did land a nice dinner out of the deal, though.
  • Sunday 6/29 - Summerfest. The Polyphonic Spree were back in town, so I made my one trip to the fest for this year. Great show, pictures are online. Highlight: after changing from black jumpsuits into the white robes, the Spree made their way around the back of the crowd, then through the row behind us on their way back to the stage.

So tonight I’ll relax by a fire in Dan’s backyard, then I’ve got Wednesday and Thursday nights to recover and get ready for a busy holiday weekend.

(Side note on The Polyphonic Spree… remember Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure? Wyld Stallions is destined to be the band that brings the world together in peace and harmony. The Spree could be that band.)
