When Sol Fire closed over the winter, I was shocked and disappointed. Since then, a question frequently asked of me is “So what’s going to open in that location?”
I still don’t have an answer to that, but I can say that *something* is going on.
I’ve been keeping an eye out the window over the restaurant, and there’s been a flurry of activity lately. Early last week, I observed two businessmen in the parking lot talking and gesturing at the building. Late last week, we saw two more men taking measurements of the back lot, and also noticed that a garbage dumpster had been placed at the back door. Over the weekend, someone must have been doing work inside - the dumpster was full of what looked like 2×4’s and drywall.
Finally, this morning a cargo truck backed up into the lot, and a few men unloaded a box labeled “Firemaster” before they made their way up to the roof of the building.

This is exciting stuff for all of us here in the Center of Power. I hope they don’t disappoint. Keep us posted.

The new business will be a restaurant that features a shrine to how I’m better than Buchs at golf.
