Back From Vegas

Judy and returned from a few days in Vegas on Thursday. I was my 6th trip out there, and it was just as fun as the first time. Once again, we stayed at my parent’s place, Polo Towers. It’s situated right off the strip, behind a little shopping mall and across the street from Planet Hollywood, which was the Alladdin the last time we were out there.

The pool at the condo is a bit on the smallish side, so we splurged on a one-night stay at Mandalay Bay. They’ve got a couple of great pools and a lazy river - well worth it. The rooms there are fantastic. There was a 40-inch HDTV mounted on the wall, and another TV in the bathroom.

Gambling was a bit up-and-down this time. This was our first trip out there as a married couple, so when you sit down to play together and one wins/one loses, it’s not as exciting. I did have a good run at the roulette table, and Judy did well playing blackjack.

Our last full day we decided to Keep It Moving down the strip. We started with a run through Paris and a cocktail atop the Eiffel Tower. From there it was off to the Bellagio for a few glasses of wine and some tuna & beef carpaccio on the patio at Olive’s. As luck would have it, the first dancing water show of the day began just as we were finishing up our meal. Next up we walked through the Forum shops at Caesar’s Palace, through the Mirage, and into Treasure Island (now known as “T.I.”) for a few hours of blackjack (Bryan down, Judy up).

Next stop was the new Wynn resort. It might sound strange, but it was tastefully done - not as extravagant as the Bellagio, but all the little details were great. They have a patio looking out over a lagoon and waterfall, so we stopped for yet another cocktail. Again, as luck would have it, there was a water/light show there that we just happened to show up for.

After that it was time for another snack, so we wandered over to the Venetian for some sushi at a restaurant/nightclub. Great looking place, less-than-average food, extravagant prices.

Our final stop was back at T.I. for some roulette, where I absolutely caught fire. We played for about 45 minutes, and in the course of 10 spins, one of my numbers hit 6 times. I went up a few hundred and we wisely decided to cash in.

Twelve hours after our day of Keeping It Moving began, we called it a night.

I’ll get photos up this weekend
Photos are up!
