S.O.B.!!! (UPDATED)

I bought a nice pair of shoes on eBay last week. They arrived over the weekend, and it turns out the color wasn’t what I thought they would be. The seller had the exact same pair in a different color for sale, so I contacted him about an exchange.

Initially, he wanted me to pay for shipping both ways AND an additional $10 “restocking” fee. I told him that was bullshit, and I wanted a refund. He agreed to do the exchange if I paid the shipping costs, which is all I wanted in the first place.

I shipped them off via the Post Office yesterday. Today I logged onto eBay to get in touch with the guy and let him know they should be arriving in a day or so.

He closed his fracking account! This was a seller with 700+ feedbacks posted, and a virtual store full of merchandise - not some guy selling stuff he found in his closet.

So, now I’ve filed dispute claims with eBay and PayPal, but it could take up to 30 days to be resolved. In that time, the guy can clear everything out of his PayPal account and start over.

Basically, if you wantto rip people off, eBay is the place to do it. Set up an account, make some legitimate sales, then post a bunch of bogus items and take the money and literally run.

I love getting bargains on eBay. I went on a nice shopping spree over the last few months, but this has left me with a very, very, very sour taste in my mouth.

UPDATE: Buchs Gots To Get Paid!

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.

We were able to recover $33.98 USD and this amount has been credited to
you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges.
