After reading Chuck’s announcement yesterday, I was convinced that it would be the worst thing I would hear all month, if not all of 2007.
Oh how wrong I was.
Last night, Judy & I made impromptu plans to have a bite at our local eatery, Sol Fire. I walked over first, and had planned on getting a seat at the bar.
I was shocked to discover that the lights were out, and on the front door was a flyer taped up.
“Sol Fire is closed permanently.”
Really, really shitty news. I guess they’re serious about it - the web site has been shut down already.
Having that restaurant literally outside our window did play a little part in choosing our condo 2 years ago. Hopefully someone swoops in and takes advantage of the fantastic location. Soon.

I know - I can’t believe that enough people bought their first album, and that ANYONE would want them to make more music, let alone sell it.
Sol fire closing sucks, too.

What a bummer. Maybe we’ll get lucky and a new Starbucks will open there.
Cuz that’s just as good…

I would like to think they shut down because that was where we had brunch one day and I “waved the white napkin,” being unable to finish my meal. You don’t see that every day. Perhaps the owners felt after besting my legendary appetite, they wanted to start over somewhere else with an all-new challenge?

Maybe Sol Fire will reopen in a better location, like in the center of power.
