I never liked you, Cingular. Not from day one. I put in my time, though. Even a little extra, while I laid in wait for a better deal. This week, opportunity came knocking when I lost my phone. I did some research and decided upon Sprint for my new carrier and this fancy ass phone - the Samsung A900. Similar to a Motorola RAZR, but way cooler. Plus, I can get ESPN on it. The official transfer of my "old" number will be complete sometime this afternoon, so you don't even have to update your contact lists. At that moment I'll be forever free of Cingular. Don't blow this, Sprint.
Just ask this guy. Cocktail hour(s) on Friday night ended up at Lucille's Rockin' Pianos. Who, by the way, have a horrible website. Anyways, I was seated just behind the pianist's stool, within 3 or 4 feet. I won't go into details, but the guy was just generally a dick. Well, after several hours of beers, bourbon, and gin, I had had enough of the schtick.Did I mention that this guy was a dick? As The Chuck puts it from time to time, he was in line for an old fashioned cock punching. Only instead of that, I put my thumb over the mouth of my full beer bottle, gave it a good shake, ...
Well, we held the Boca Memorial Invitational this past weekend. Let me just say that our team, the defending champions, did not win. Which was bullshit. But I digress... Aside from the fact that I didn't win, a good time was had by all. Also, a great deal of beer was had by all. We very nearly killed off a quarter barrel of Lakefront Cream City Pale Ale. We also feasted upon several varieties of potatoe salads, bratwursts, and hamburgers. This years' champions were Dan and Jen Cody, who beat 2002 Champions Tom & Lin Buchs. In a bizzare turn of events, the champs opted to take possesion of the runners up prize, a "Salsa Garden" starter set of cilantro, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. They did keep the 1st place ribbons, however. That meant that the grand prize itself went to the 2nd place team - who I am sure will enjoy the Maragarita Kit. After the tournament and dinner, there was another important matter of business to attend to. I'll save the details surrounding that to another post, but I'll tease you with photos of what I'll refer to as "The Weigh In". Photos of the Boca tourney also follow. Enjoy, and thanks to everyone who came and participated.
