…so far, has been pretty much the same as prior to the wedding. Go figure.
Yes, the Big Day has come and gone. The weather didn’t exactly cooperate with us on Saturday, but there was a backup plan in place, so all went well. The presiding, uh… Priestess asked us to “choose love” prior to performing the actual ceremony. 15 times. During the vows, several witnesses thought that I was about to break into tears. If anyone wants to think that I was, that’s cool - but the tuth is that I was closer to laughing than crying. Judy, on the other hand, nearly started a “Stand By Me” pie-eating-contest epidemic of tears. There was a bit more God-talk than I expected, but I managed to stand quietly through the 20 minutes or so and get to the good stuff.
The reception was lovely, as expected. We spent quite a bit of time working the room, saying our hellos and thank-yous. I was a little disappointed that I was only able to try 2 of the hours devours, but the Lobster & Brie quiche I had was *awsome*.
Dinner was also spectacular. The wood-roasted beef tenderloin was, in fact, wood-roasted. Just perfectly done. My main-man The Chuck got all liquored up and gave the toast of a lifetime. Well, it seemed to last a lifetime (hey-oh! just kidding, he did a fantastic job!). We also decided to pass on that whole irritating glass-clinking/kissing thing, instead opting to have tables sing songs to us in exchange for the kissing. Judy isn’t a fan of public displays of affection, but she agreed just this once.
The band was great. Dan and Jim took part in some sort of a dance-off after dinner - I’m not sure who came out on top, but I did see the bride on the floor at one point.
There were a few hiccups throughout the night, but everything went pretty well, and everyone seemed to have a great time.
Thanks especially to each of The Guys - Chuck (”Best Man”), Dan (”Groomsman #4″), Les (”Usher #1″), and Andrew (”Usher #2″).
The day after the wedding, Judy & I took off for Door County. We stayed at a little bed & breakfast in Ephraim, but not before stopping at the Dyckesville Bowl just outside of Green Bay to catch the end of the Packer game. Monday was beautiful outside, so we played a round of mini-golf, rode some go-karts, did a little shopping, had a fantastic lunch, found a great little winery with a Boca Ball court, and *then* had a fabulous dinner at a table overlooking sunset.
Today, back to reality.

Congratulations again! What a great time. It was so great, I paid a heavy price later that night, but that’s another story…
