I’ve written about the sweet nectar of the gods, the coffee, several times on my weblog. As I pointed out in “The Coffee Connundrum“, it’s hard to function at a high enough level to make the coffee in the morning without first *having* a cup of coffee to get me going.

Case in point: I woke up this morning, shuffled my way into the kitchen, and proceeded to follow the steps in making a pot of coffee

1. remove old grounds (if neccessary)
2. grind beans, place into filter basket with filter
3. turn on

Oops, I may have forgotten a step there. Yeah, there’s the whole part about adding water. Apparently, I followed steps 1, 2 and 3 above, and even went as far as to measure out an appropriate amount of water into the pot. What I forgot to do was pour the water into the tank.

Thus, I ended up with a warm pot of water sitting mere inches away from a pile of waiting coffee grounds.
