The timing is a little bit odd, but tonight marks the return of “Battlestar Galactica” on the Sci-Fi channel. I’ve written about it before, but I’d would have to say that it is, hands down, one of the 3 best series on television right now. And, probably the best sci-fi series *ever* done.
There are so many things that make this show great: topical and thought-provoking plots, fantastic writing, great effects, and a great cast. It’s also got one of the best characters around right now, Dr. Gaius Baltar.
Anyways, it’s fantastic stuff. It’s got nothing to to with the original series that aired back in the 70’s - not a sequel, but a “re-telling” of the story. Storylines deal more with politics and religion than zap-zap-bang space battles.

Les gave me the original miniseries. It looks real good. I’m going to check it out over the weekend.
