MoviePooper

After receiving a poorly veiled attempt at a guilt trip last night for not posting enough to my weblog, I decided to share one of my new pleasures with the rest of you.

Have you ever seen a movie that may have interested you, but you never got around to seeing? Perhaps it got horrible reviews, or the Chuck gave it the thumbs-down/raspberry schtick, or whatever. So you didn’t see it, but you’re still interested in what happens.

Case in point: The Village. I was never really all that interested in seeing this movie last summer. The Chuck gave it a poor review, and I wasn’t all that impressed with Signs. It’s out on DVD now, and there are commercials promoting it every 10 minutes. While I still have no interest in sitting through the movie, I’m curious what the Big Twist was all about. Enter moviepooper.com. 2 minutes later, I know all I need to know about it, saving myself the other 118 minutes I would have had to sit through.

MoviePooper gives you a spoiler-full synopsis of the movie you’re interested in. They have a database of 1,475 spoilers. I’ve spent about 45 minutes finding out the endings to various movies. It’s great fun.

  1. Cool site. I never got around to seeing The Alamo, but really wanted to know how it ended. Here’s what the moviepooper gave me: During a 90 minute battle, all of the Alamo defenders are killed. $2.99 saved!

  2. Thanks a lot for ruining it for everyone, Chuck. Hey, guess what happens to Jesus in The Passion?

  3. i just thought you all might be interested in the movie i was talking about last friday: super fuzz (starring ernest borgnine and terrence hill). synopsis: “A cop suddenly discovers he has amazing powers (super strength, super vision)–until he sees the color red, and uses his newfound gifts to nab some counterfeiters.”

a truly bad film that i loved when i was 5-7 years old. definitely worth a viewing sometime.

oh, and jesus ends up falling in love with that hooker and getting married… or maybe that’s “pretty woman.”

  4. I looked around at MoviePooper for a few minutes and came upon some really funny spoilers.

    Soylent Green
    - Soylent Green is made of people

Something about the site taking the time to put up spoilers that simple or obvious strikes me as really funny.

Raj, you’re confused about the Jesus ending. John the Baptist falls in love with the Hooker. Jesus actually crushes Pontius Pilate in a hydraulic press.

  5. You guys are a bit confused.

For the record, The Passion ends with Jesus taking first place in an arm wrestling contest, thus winning himself a really big truck and the affection of his long lost son.
