Coming Soon…

Coming Soon...Step one in my quest for world domination making it on my own is nearly complete. When I wrote a few weeks ago about leaving Layer One and moving into the world of freelancing, I said that I’d keep this blog in place, but re-tool it to focus more on my business activities. After giving that a little more thought, I decided it was a bad idea - for several reasons.

It makes more sense to have a site dedicated to promoting my business. Potential clients really aren’t going to be impressed by my fantasy football updates, or what bands I’ve seen recently. Also on that note, I can be a bit… opinionated. It was suggested to me that I might want to tone it down a little, lest I might turn off a potential client. Part of what I dig about the whole weblog is just speaking my mind (when I get around to it). I don’t want to have to filter myself - this is a great outlet for me. Especially now that I have very little human contact during the day.

So, I will be re-tooling this site, but not in the way I intended. I’ll be removing the Portfolio pages, and moving those over to my new site. I’ll also be moving any strictly technical writings (which I hope to do more of) over there. Oddly enough, my friends are not impressed with my mastery of XHTML and the inner workings of the Linux Desktop.

I don’t have a launch date for the new site set in stone yet, but I’ll announce something when it’s ready.

What?!! Are you kidding?!! I love it when you write about XHTMLs, they’re my favorite.

Who would suggest such a thing? Must be those damned Waukesha County conservatives!

  3. Two thoughts:

    1. I think the phonetic pronunciation of XHTMLs would roughly be ZHEET-meels.

    2. I’m with Judy on the Waukesha County conservatives. Those people want more “Jesus-can-lower-my-taxes” posts and less talk about The Pixies.

  4. Opinionated? The only controversy you ever instigate has do with which shitty restaurant serves the best breakfast burritos.

    Let’s really get it going….

The Elderly: Fonts of knowledge, or untapped fuel sources?

  5. The Elderly: Untapped Fuel Resource

While I have no scientific proof, per se, I think the distinctive “Old Person Smell” means there’s something in them that can be burned as a fuel source.

My guess is it is possibly a type of gas. That smell is most certainly not indicative of a solid fuel source. There might be an argument that a liquid fuel source produces that smell, but considering the frailty of most old people, it’s doubtful their bodies are filled with oodles of car-powerin’ liquid.

That leaves us with a “new” form of natural gas which, The Good Lord Willing, can be harnessed in such a fashion as to reduce this nation’s dependence upon Middle East oil. I say crack the suckers open and let’s find out.
