Have you seen the most recent Bush TV ad? This time, they’re targeting Kerry’s attendance record. I don’t have the actual text of the ad in front of me, but the gist of it is: “John Kerry has been skipping out of his responsibilities as a US Senator in order to campaign for the Presidency.”
First of all, it’s almost like the ad is implying that the Kerry campaign is the equivalent of a 6-month vacation. “Instead of voting for a bill that would ban the kicking of puppies, John Kerry is travelling around, running for President. Who does he think he is?”
I also did a quick Google search for george bush vacation days, just to confirm what I already thought. Here’s one quote from Yahoo
…Bush has taken 250 days off as of August 2003. That’s 27% of his presidency spent on vacation.
Here’s another:
…For some frame of reference, As of April 2004, Bush had taken 500 days off, compare this to Clinton who only took 152 days off over his TWO terms.
I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised.
