I just finished up a breakfast sandwich from Subway. Apparently, the location on Brady Street is part of their test-marketing campaign. I frequent the Subway - not nearly as often as the Jimmy John’s - and last week, I received a flyer notifying me of the new breakfast menu.
I was up and about a few minutes early this morning, so I thought I’d give it a try. I was the only one in there. The guy behind the counter asked me what I wanted, and I asked “what do you got?” I was a little disturbed when he suggested “well… we’ve got subs”. But, then he made a little motion towards the menu board, and up in the corner was a list of the breakfast items.
They offer your basic egg & [ham|bacon|sausage|steak] sandwich. Your choice of a sandwich bun or a croissant. You can add whatever you’d like to it, although nothing really sounded appealing - Ham, Egg, and …Lettuce? Maybe Onions.
The total came to less than $3, which was good. Unfortunately, the sandwich was a bit on the cold side - the egg filling was warm-ish, but the cheese and croissant were definately straight out of the refrigerator. All in all, I was a little disappointed.
Stick to the subs, Subway!

Finally! I’ve been wondering what you’re eating. I miss the “What’s for lunch?” section of this site.
