Back in March, I decided to treat myself to a new jacket. I’d been wearing the same wool-blend black zip-up jacket for about 3 years. It has seen better days. I found one that I liked on Amazon, so I went ahead and placed the order. It was actually purchased through Nordstrom.
Last week at Jazz In The Park, Judy & I were walking home, and I went to zip up the new jacket. I’ve worn it maybe a half dozen times, give or take. When I went to zip, the little metal strip on the left-side (the thing you actually place into the zipping aparatus to start the zipping process) had removed itself from the cloth. Broken.
I was all ready to sit down and write an angry letter to Mr. Kenneth Cole, when I noticed that I still had the packing materials. I took a look, and found a customer service phone number.
I explained the situation to the rep, and before I could finish, she said, “so you want to return the defective merchandise? Ok, let’s see…” Within 3 minutes, I had a return authorization number, and a new jacket was on it’s way. And, to top it off, the same jacket is now on sale for $50 less that I paid for it - so they’re going to issue a refund. How cool is that?
I know I’ve written in the past about “The List” - companies who have screwed me, and will face my wrath for eternity. Well, Nordstrom is on my anti-list. I encourage each of you to look to them for your clothes-and-jacket buying needs.
