Last night was Election Night in Milwaukee. One of the closest mayoral races I've seen in town. Of couse, I've been here 30+ years, and there have only been 2 elected mayors in that time - Henry Maier and John Norquist. I can only assume they were out there all day, but around 7:30PM last night, all 5 corners of Brady & Farwell were manned by opposing campaign volunteers holding placards (Barrett 3, Pratt 2). The media blitz by both Barrett and Pratt had been just outrageous. Nothing terribly nasty, but just a deluge of ads over the last few weeks. And, from Mr. Barrett, a deluge of phone calls.
