I call it my “I got F**ked” plan

Congratulations, Cingular! You've made The List - my personal list of companies whom have wronged me in the past, and will now endure my wrath for eternity. Where do I start? What it boils down to is this... all I wanted was to upgrade from this cheap-ass phone they sent me.I'm not expecting to get a new one for free, I just want to get something a little nicer. How hard should that be? Today, I made 7 phone calls - 4 to Cingular, and another 3 to SBC (also dangerously close to making the List). The first 5 calls were pretty much the same - "Sorry, not our department/problem. Please ...

Vacations

I think that a common assumption regarding vacations is that they are supposed to make you feel relaxed, and rejuvinated when you return. "I'm back from vacation, the batteries are charged, and I'm ready to dive into work!". I could not disagree more. Since I've entered the professional workforce, every vacation I've taken has made me feel the opposite. I come back to the office, and ask myself, "What the hell am I doing here?" A vacation doesn't recharge me, it makes me realize that I don't need to work as hard as I do. Of course. the alternative is to *not* take a vacation, which really isn't an alternative.
