I've written about the sweet nectar of the gods, the coffee, several times on my weblog. As I pointed out in "The Coffee Connundrum", it's hard to function at a high enough level to make the coffee in the morning without first *having* a cup of coffee to get me going. Case in point: I woke up this morning, shuffled my way into the kitchen, and proceeded to follow the steps in making a pot of coffee 1. remove old grounds (if neccessary) 2. grind beans, place into filter basket with filter 3. turn on Oops, I may have forgotten a step there. I am unable to function properly without coffee. However, in order to make the coffee, I must be able to function properly. It's like the chicken and the egg. About 20 minutes ago, I started a pot of coffee. Grounds in the filter, water in the reservoir, turn the thing on, go back to desk. About 3 minutes later, I hear an unusual splashing noise. In my morning stupor, I forgot to place the coffee pot under the drip. What a mess.
