Well, we held the Boca Memorial Invitational this past weekend. Let me just say that our team, the defending champions, did not win. Which was bullshit. But I digress...
Aside from the fact that I didn't win, a good time was had by all. Also, a great deal of beer was had by all. We very nearly killed off a quarter barrel of
Lakefront Cream City Pale Ale. We also feasted upon several varieties of potatoe salads, bratwursts, and hamburgers.
This years' champions were Dan and Jen Cody, who beat 2002 Champions Tom & Lin Buchs. In a bizzare turn of events, the champs opted to take possesion of the runners up prize, a "Salsa Garden" starter set of cilantro, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. They did keep the 1st place ribbons, however. That meant that the grand prize itself went to the 2nd place team - who I am sure will enjoy the Maragarita Kit.
After the tournament and dinner, there was another important matter of business to attend to. I'll save the details surrounding that to another post, but I'll tease you with photos of what I'll refer to as "The Weigh In".
