Next Year?

That MU/UW game last night was a heartbreaker. Incredible first 20 minutes, both teams lit it up. Marquette stormed out to open the 2nd half, and then Washington couldn’t miss for the next 5 minutes. A tough way to end the season, again.

So what about next year? Two initial thoughts:

  1. Buh-bye, Lazar. I’m tired of watching him jack up crazy 3-pointers. I’m tired of seeing him play soft in the paint. I’m tired of hearing about how he’s the nicest guy that anyone has ever coached. You know what, I want guys that the other team is afraid of, not someone they’d like to go out for ice cream with. Anyways, hope he’s getting a good degree.

  2. Are we going to have another season where our biggest guy is 6’6”? I was looking at the commitments for next season, and they’re all shooting/point guards. I think we have enough 6’-6’4” guys who can shoot. We haven’t had an inside presence since Amal McCaskill, which isn’t saying much. I’m fine with being a guard-oriented team, but they’re only going to go so far unless they can defend the post — do I need to remind anyone what Georgetown did to them last week?
