Barring a tremendous game by the Dolphins Defense tonight, I’ll be making my second straight trip to the Imaginary Superbowl next week. Last year, I was blown out in the final game by The Chuck. I’ll likely be playing against The Cornucopias this year, unless McNabb goes off tonight.
It was an odd situation for me on Sunday, because 7 of my 9 players were involved in the noon game, and my opponent - Hermann’s Head - still had most of his team playing in the 3:00 game. I knew that I’d have to sit all afternoon, watching him pick away at my lead. Pick… Pick… Pick. Luckily (for me, not for him), I put up enough points early that I made it tough on him. I honestly thought that a 74 point lead would not be enough to hold him off.
So, it’s on to the Superbowl. Looking ahead, my best players have pretty good matchups. Trent Green is playing at Minnesota, Shaun Alexander home against Arizona, and Tory Holt is at home against Cincinnati. I hope I hope I hope.
