Why Uncle Bryan didn’t go to the Brewers game with his neices and nephew last night

Uncle Bryan isn’t here because he believes that the current economic climate of the league unfairly favors teams in large markets. Small-market teams are perennial also-rans, and have been relegated to acting as de-facto farm systems. The implementation of a salary cap system would bring parity to major league baseball, as it has done for the other major professional sporting leagues. However, the combination of an extremely powerful player’s union (vociferously opposed to any steps that could potentially limit players salaries) and an equally powerful group of owners of large-market teams (who have thusfar enjoyed the spoils of the current system) have successfully blocked any attempts to bring about such change.
