I know it’s late notice, but there’s a film on PBS tonight (7:00 pm in Milwaukee, Channel 10) about amateur astronomy titled “Seeing In The Dark”. A subject I’m relatively interested in, I was also involved in the development of the website as part of my new position at Kapow. It was a fun project to work on, and it was a nice change to work on something that (1) I was interested in and (2) was more public-facing than my previous projects.
I haven’t seen it yet so I can’t vouch for the show itself - but there’s some interesting stuff on the site. For instance, did you know what former NFL running back Robert Smith has been up to since his retirement? (Stargazing, among other things.)
As I said, it’s on at 7pm tonight, and I haven’t found if/when it’s available in HD yet.
