I just spent 20 minutes writing a recap of my adventures acquiring a Nintendo Wii yesterday. Then I was inserting a link to the official Wii website and the browser crashed, taking my work with it.
So let’s just leave it at this: we got a Wii yesterday, and it’s a ton of fun.

We also got one for the office. Lunchtime fun for everyone.

Yeah, it’s awesome. Especially the boxing. Not since golf season have I seen Bryan Buchs leave home at 6:30 a.m. for anything, but getting in line for the Wii was definitely worth it.

So, what’s the deal now with these things? We can’t get anymore until March or something? Or is that the Playstation 3?
I can’t keep up with this stuff. The Wii looks like it’s cool and fun as all get out, but I haven’t been following these stories about the short supply. I got the impression that after the debut week or whatever, there’s no more to be had until the supply chain stuff gets worked out.

The Wii is not in as short supply as the PS3. Nintendo has committed to shipping 4 million of these by the end of the year. They’re easier and cheaper to make than the PS3.
