For Raj & Jim

A few years ago, there was an “incident” involving me, a volleyball, and an old man. Let’s just say it didn’t end well for the old man. Since then, I’ve been tagged as being anti-elderly.

Anyways, there was a piece in the Onion last week that I found amusing and fitting: If The Heat Doesn’t Kill The Elderly, I Will. Enjoy.

  1. I read that Onion piece just the other day. While mean, it exhibits nowhere near the viciousness you showed that old man trying to enjoy his family reunion at South Shore Park while three generations of his family looked on.

Bryan, I’m no champion of the elderly. I respect them, mostly, but even the ice water running through my cold, black heart could hardly stand the sight of your spiking with venom and anger that volleyball into that old man’s face. It is one of the enduring images of my first 20-some years.
