It turns out that I’m too short
I bought this beautiful blue driver last spring off eBay. It was a great deal - something in the area of $50. The only problem was, it was built custom for a man standing between 6′6″ and 6′10″ tall. I stand 5′12″, or 6′0″ when I don’t slouch.
I hadn’t really been able to hit any driver well until this year, so I never bothered looking into getting it reshafted or resized to fit my height. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been hitting it occasionally very well, and more occasionally with a massive slice. Well, I happened to be out in Brookfield yesterday, and stopped into Golf Galaxy to look for a new glove. Strolling past the “Golf Tech” desk, I saw that they were only charging $3.95 to cut a shaft down to length. Of course, they had to cut off the old grip, so I needed a new one of those, too. Throw in labour, and the whole thing was under $15.
I’m looking very forward to hitting it this weekend.
