jb.pngThe Chuck returned from Europe on Sunday, and brought with him a very special gift for moi - a French language version of a “24″ graphic novel (not a “comic book”). How cool is that?! Now I have a reason to learn to read French. Although I think I understand the story already, just by looking at the pictures - Jack Bauer kicks some ass.

Have you seen that annoying AOL commercial yet? (Unless you’ve been in a consistent vegetative state, I’m sure you have). By my count, they’re running 3 versions of it - one full, and 2 trimmed down. If I hear that dumb ass saying “Spamity Calamity!” one more time, I’m throwing something through the TV.

I don’t want to be the one to break the story, but Mr. Cody has some news for everyone. I’m sure he’ll write something about it in the next day or so. But I think you know what I’m talking about…

I just happened to catch Letterman last night, which I don’t always do. Luckily for me, the guests were the lovely Jessica Alba, and the very entertaining Brian Greene. Alba will be in Fantastic Four later this summer, and is also in Sin City, which starts this weekend. I’m anxiously awaiting that one. It’s based on a series of graphic novels (not comic books) by Frank Miller, who also re-defined the Batman series with his “Dark Night” books.

The other guest, Greene, is a physicist and author. He was the host of a 5-hour Nova series last year on string theory called “The Elegant Universe“; he manages to explain some of the extremely complex concepts of string in a way that an average (well, above average) person can understand. During the interview last night, Dave made a comment along the lines of, “why do we need a theory that explains everything? isn’t it enough to say that a higher power is responsible?” - to which Greene replied a very condescending “Well, if that’s what you need to do…” When I find the exact quote, I’ll post it.

Finally, I’ve been doing some more work for a client-who-shall-remain-nameless. It’s unfortunate that most of my best work will never be seen by anyone other than my clients. As a designer, you take a screenshot of your work, and you’ve got it. As a developer, it’s not quite so simple… and frustrating.
