Back in the days of my gleeful youth… On this day each year, I would retire to the couch with a case of Old Milwaukee for the the afternoon and watch myself full of NCAA basketball.
Then I had to go and get me a job. Life hasn’t been the same since. I’ve usually managed to have a TV somewhere near me for the first-round games, but it’s not the same as kicking back and *really* enjoying the games.
Now, for the first time in about 10 years, I have the means by which to re-live the glory days. Being “self-employed” does have some perks! Alas, I’m backed up with work at the moment, and will have to settle for listening to the TV in the other room as my bloody fingers pound away at the keyboard.
To make it worse, I can make out the distinctive sounds of an Irish flute somewhere off in the distance (Judges? BBC?). From what I can tell, it appears to be a somewhat nice day out.
It’s going to be a long day.
Also, I like Wake Forest to win it all over Syracuse.

I simply couldn’t help myself. I was listening to the game early on, and once they were up by 12, I was in for the long haul. Outstanding performance - good for them.
Of course, I had Alabama over BC in the next round…

I missed it. Was there some sort of contest on today or something?

my freakin’ hilarious wife has a “michigan st. v. gorgonzola” final.
watching her freak out over her bracket is like a fantasy come true. there is nothing more beautiful than the sounds of her screaming, “F*ck! Creighton lost!” at the tv.
