As those who know me are already aware, if I feel I have been wronged, I don’t forget it. Over the years, I have established a list of companies or establishments that I will never do business with again. Until now, this list has only been stored in my own, personal memory. But, thanks to cyberspace, I can now commit The List to, well, bits and bytes. My only wish is that anyone who happens upon The List will empathize with my plight, and follow me in boycotting the offending parties.
The most recent addition to The List is Intuit Software, developers of several popular financial software packages.
I’ve used Quicken for a few years now, and will continue to do so [pursuant to article 6.3 of The List - "No contact shall be made with an offending party UNLESS said party is the only alternative to a third party that is also on The List, and that third party is deemed to be a greater threat"]. Translated, I’m not planning on switching to Microsoft Money anytime soon, so I’m stuck with Quicken.
Back to the story: it’s Tax Season - one of my favorite times of the year - and my finances have evolved to the point that I’d like to get an opinion on how I’m filing. I’m not going to drop a dime on H&R Block, and although I hear that Tha’ Chuck has “A Guy”, I prefer to do them myself. So, I went online and ordered up a copy of TurboTax Premier. That was back on January 24th. The order didn’t post to my checking account until the 29th, and I still haven’t received shipment. According to their customer service, I should be seeing it by February 12th.
So, Intuit… you’re on The List.
